This class is aimed at crafters who may have never picked up a pair of pliers, we will cover all the basics needed to get started creating great jewelry, from selecting the correct tools to best learn a skill and complete the task of transferring designs from simple sketches to finished work. We will begin by honing basic filing, sawing, and soldering skills. We will provide examples of finished work to guide beginning students along a step-by-step path of skill building.  We will discuss studio safety, studio maintenance and cleanliness. A comprehensive tools and materials list for this class will be provided including metal and stone suppliers. Students will select stones and build projects around them. Materials and start up beginner tool kit will be nominally priced. (sold separately)
